Whoever the 49ers have at quarterback will have a bevy of targets to throw to. After inking the real Otis(Randy) Moss to a deal last week that made a splash in free agency the 49ers have inked clutch wide receiver Mario Manningham to a two-year contract according to Jason La Canfora and league sources.
Manningham visited the Rams on Saturday and had been receiving interest from several other teams.
The 49ers themselves had been interested in Brandon Lloyd who took his talents to Boston and the New England Patriots.
Manningham has 160 catches for 2,315 yards and 18 touchdowns in 4 seasons. Manningham hasn’t produced stout numbers has had some very clutch moments in his career to date. Most notably the 38 yard bomb he caught going down the sideline in Super Bowl XLVI.
I do wonder tho why Mario coming off such a good Super Bowl performance did not pursue a situation that would make him a number 1 receiver. I’m not saying he is a #1 but still just wondering.
