Felix Jones must have come to grips with the fact that he is now officially a backup.
Maybe being an official wing man will help him realize the potential that he left at Arkansas while playing wing man to Darren McFadden.
NFL.com is reporting that Jones failed his Cowboys conditioning test to start camp.
Jones is coming off shoulder surgery but that had nothing to with his legs or being completely out of shape.
Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett shared his displeasure.
“I don’t want to get into the reasons why any of those guys were not able to do it. The fact is, they didn’t do it,” Garrett said Monday. “We need to make sure they are physically ready to practice the way we want to practice before we put them out there.”
Jones failed to run 2 sets of ten 50 yard sprints in 7 seconds.
Being a former football player I know it’s not an easy feat to accomplish but it should be doable for a running back of Jones caliber.
Felix Jones is in the final year of his rookie deal and needs to get it together before he’s on the outside looking in.
