This has to be the summer of the lingering left knee injury.

Yesterday I wrote about Brian Urlacher having his knee scoped after the constant pain was to much.

Today the Pittsburgh Post Gazette is reporting that James Harrison underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to help remedy a lingering left knee issue.

Legendary sports writer Ed Bouchette broke the story and commented on it.

We first learned of the potential of surgery on Tuesday night, when Harrison’s agent said a scope of the knee could be done “sooner than later.” Harrison has been bothered by continued irritation behind his knee cap and has yet to practice this summer.

Harrison is trying to get off the PUP list in time for the Steelers week 1 showdown with Peyton Manning and the Broncos.

The extremely durable Harrison is a quick healer and should be back in no time.
