Bounty Gate has taken on a life of its own, and even after its resolution, there will probably still be conversation.

Fresh off of Roger Goodell re-issuing his bounty punishments, news has leaked out possibly involving another witness to the transgressions.

Only thing is, the new key witness says he’s not a witness and was never spoken to.

I know it sounds like an episode of The Wire or something.

According to USA Today, the NFL sent out a memo to all teams detailing some information involving former Vikings and current Rams defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy.

“This matter initially came to our attention during the playoffs following the 2009 season. Brad Childress, then Head Coach of the Minnesota Vikings, informed us that he believed that Saints players had placed a bounty on Vikings quarterback Brett Favre. In subsequent discussions, Coach Childress said that a Vikings player, Jimmy Kennedy, had told him that the Saints defensive unit had offered a $10,000 bounty on Mr. Favre and that Mr. Kennedy had identified Anthony Hargrove, then a defensive player for the Saints, as the source of his information,” the NFL stated in a memo to teams Tuesday.

“During the NFC Championship game between the Saints and the Vikings there were an unusual number of penalties for unnecessary roughness due to hits on Vikings quarterback Brett Favre, and fines of $30,000 were subsequently imposed on Saints players.”

That memo also implicate Kennedy with being a witness a several months ago when all the Bounty Gate information first came about.

Kennedy like anyone accused of being a narc/informant did not respond kindly to being labeled someone who cooperated.

The Wire  remember.

So Kennedy like all great athletes do today, took to twitter to rant about it.

Sounds like a regular day in the neighborhood.

The law wants cooperation, you won’t cooperate and may not know anything.

The law says well get in the backseat, let’s take a ride.

we’re going to let all your homeboys see if in the back of this car.

At that point it doesn’t matter if you snitch,  perception is reality.

Hey what do I know.
