Time goes so fast when you’re having fun and things all going according to plan.
Just think it was close to 10 weeks ago that we were dealing with replacement referee blunders and possibly the biggest blunder of all time.
The Green Bay Packers remember clearly, because it was week 3 when a replacement referee wrong awarded a “Fail Mary” touchdown to the Seahawks in a shamble of a game at Lambeau Field.
Aaron Rodgers was on “Mike In Mike In The Morning” earlier, and spoke about the fact that the Packers still discuss that outcome and how it will affect their playoff positioning.
“How can you not?”
”We’re all human here. That was obviously a difficult moment for us. We’re hoping that we’ve put yourself in a position right now where that’s not going to have an effect on things. We’re not going to use that as an excuse. We have four games left and everything is right in front of us, with a chance to win out, and not only be division champions[but also] also a potential first-round bye. But in some of those quiet moments, of course, you can’t help but think about it.”
The Packers are 8-4 and have hopes of winning their division, and possibly getting a first round bye.
Had the Packers won that game, they would be 9-3 and still within some shot of getting a first round bye.
The Fail Mary loss shouldn’t prevent Green Bay from making the playoffs, but it could come up again if the Packers are forced to travel in the first round, or get a bad draw.
