Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs need a quarterback, and would like to trade for one he’s familiar with, so the team can use the #1 pick on someone such as Luke Joeckel of Texas A&M.
Reid is very familiar and high and current Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, and even though both parties will deny it, USA Today is reporting that the Eagles and Chiefs did discuss Foles this week at the NFL Combine, but no progress has been made towards a trade.
This conversation reportedly took place a few hours before Andy Reid address the media at the Combine, where his answer to a question about Foles was, “He’s not available. You just had (Eagles GM) Howie (Roseman) up here (on the podium), so I think you know that.”
The conversation did occur regardless if both parties deny it. Pro Football Talk is reporting that Chip Kelly indeed wants the opportunity to coach Nick Foles, and give him a chance to win the starting job.
I expect the two parties to again have conversations on the matter, being that the Chiefs do need a quarterback, and Kelly will find out fairly quickly once mini camps start, if Foles can indeed run his system.Powered by Sidelines
