Report: Percy Harvin Constantly Complained That Christian Ponder Wasn’t Any Good

Amid the scrutiny of the Percy Harvin trade is the lingering question of what really caused general manager Rick Spielman to go back on his previous statement that he would not trade Harvin.

Yahoo Sports is reporting that final straw or main reason for moving Harvin was his lack of confidence in his quarterback.

According to two sources, the straw that broke the Vikings’ back with Harvin is when he bemoaned the fact that quarterback Christian Ponder, a 2011 first-round pick, was not good enough. That came even though Ponder consistently fed Harvin the ball.

Harvin will now play with Russell Wilson, and even though Wilson is considered one of the top up and coming young quarterbacks in the game, what will Harvin say or do the first time Wilson doesn’t feed him the football enough to Harvin’s liking.

What does it say that Ponder and the Vikings got better with Harvin out of the lineup?  This will be a telling off-season for both clubs.
