Bears Using Helmet Cam To Evaluate Quarterbacks

Chicago Bears new head coach Marc Trestman has been known as an innovator for years, and now he’s taking it a step forward.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Trestman had camera’s mounted to the side of his quarterbacks helmets during the team recent rookie minicamp to help assess their play and decision-making.

It’s reportedly an experiment to see if it is worthwhile for coaches and players to study what the quarterback sees as the play develops.

If Trestman feels the camera was successful in gauging how guys like Matt Blanchard and other quarterbacks develop during the spring, expect Jay Cutler to have a camera on his helmet as well.
