The Seattle Seahawks 12th man will have the spotlight on them in week 2 of the NFL season when the Seahawks host the 49ers in the first of their two epic tilts to be featured on Sunday night football.

During that September 15 matchup, Seahawks fans at CenturyLink Field will try to break the Guinness World Record for “loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium.”

A Seahawks fan group named “Volume 12,” announced on its Facebook page that Guinness accepted the application to give the “12th Man” the opportunity to break the record.

The current record in the roar category of 131.76 decibels, was set at the Ali Sami Yen Sport Complex Turk Telekom Arena on March 18, 2011, in Istanbul, Turkey, by fans of Turkey’s Galatasaray S.K. soccer club.
