Urban Meyer Says He Wants “Hard Discipline” At Ohio State

Urban Meyer is putting his program at Ohio State on notice, the players will either fall in line, face harsh discipline, and possible dismissal.

Or at least that’s what he wants you to think.

Meyer faced the music on Wednesday after enduring weeks of criticism for his programs constantly being enthralled in off the field arrest.

prior to arriving at Big 10 Media Day, Meyer was already dealing with even added scrutiny after a weekend where Carlos Hyde was accused of punching a female, and All American corner Bradley Roby was involved in a bar fight.

Hyde was subsequently suspended, and Roby will be dealt with at all.  As Meyer addressed the media, he focused on setting a hard-line for his program from here on out.

Urban Meyer said Wednesday he wants discipline in his program to be “as hard or harder” as any in the country and said he constantly evaluates whether he’s given too many second chances in the past.

“Maybe that’s where I’ve changed over the years,” Meyer said Wednesday at the Big Ten Conference’s football media day. “Even (for) a first-time offense. I want to make sure we’re setting the tone.”

Meyer admitted he was to forgiving before, but I assume that change of heart can from the enormous amount of pressure and scrutiny he had been under.
