Mikel Leshoure wants out of Detroit, and right now.
Leshoure has been unhappy in Detroit this season, and after the acquisition of Reggie Bush, wanted a trade. He’s played in three games this season while Reggie Bush, Joique Bell and Theo Riddick have handled the rushing duties for the Lions over the course of the season.
Leshoure told the Detroit Free Press that he doesn’t know what the future holds for him in Detroit, but he knows that he wants to play for a team that’s willing to let him play.
“I just want to be somewhere they’re going to feed me the rock and I can go eat, man,” Leshoure said, via the Detroit Free Press. “That’s it. They could be the worst team in the NFL. … Just give me the rock. I feel like I just need the ball. Even here, we don’t really run the ball here.”
Leshoure stopped short of ripping the Lions, but when Asked Thursday what changes he thinks need to be made in the organization this off-season, Leshoure said, “Man, I ain’t even going (there).”
“I’ll just keep it basic,” he said. “In general, I just think we need a little more leadership and we just got to eliminate the stupid (stuff). It’s like we lose games over, like, one and two things here and there that we’ve been doing here and there for the last three years. So I don’t know.
“I wish I had an answer for you, but I know what needs to be eliminated and that’s the penalties, the stupid mistakes, the stuff that’s setting us back and we’re not being able to overcome it.
“Talent wise, I honestly think we’re the most talented team in the NFL from top to bottom. But it has to start in the locker room with leadership and it has to start with us just eliminating (stuff) that beats us.
“But there’s other changes and stuff that could go, too.”
Leshoure led the Lions with 798 yards rushing last year.Powered by Sidelines
