Alex Mack may not have played the Jags against the Browns, but he sured played the game of profiting off a transition tag to the best of his abilities.
Mack is singing a new tune after getting a boatload of money from the Browns after forcing Cleveland brass to match a loaded offer from the Jaguars.
After getting a five-year, $42 million deal from the Browns, Mack told the Plain Dealer that “he’s fired up to remain with the Browns.”
“I’m excited. I’m fired up,” Mack told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer for a story published Saturday. “There’s no bad blood. Now that it’s done, I’m happy.”
Mack disputed claims that he wanted out of Cleveland.

“I don’t believe I ever said that,” Mack told the Plain Dealer. “Seeing the options and trying to test free agency and see what else was out there was something that we wanted to do and we had a small opportunity to kind of get a little bit of that.”
