Jerry Stackhouse is ready to teach the game of basketball after walking away as a player.  According to ESPN New York, Stackhouse is preparing to sit down with Phil Jackson to discuss joining the Knicks as an assistant coach.

Stackhouse, an 18-year veteran who last played in 2012-13, expressed an interest in coaching during his interview “The Anthony Donahue Show” on Monday night.

“I’d love to coach. The pro level is where I think I’d be best,” Stackhouse said. “I know what I didn’t want to play against so I think I’m a better defensive coach than an offensive coach.”
