The New York Knicks would be wise to get negotiations wrapped up with Steve Kerr before he decides to accept another offer. The New York Post is reporting that Kerr will finish out his broadcast duties with TNT and prefers to coach the Knicks over the Warrior because of his relationship with Phil Jackson.
Kerr traveled home to San Diego after being on the road for 19 days due to TNT announcing duties and his interview with Knicks president Phil Jackson in Manhattan. Kerr is hoping to wrap up proceedings Friday, according to multiple sources, and is leaning toward the Knicks over the Warriors due to Jackson’s allure.
In a surprise development, even if he joins the Knicks, Kerr has decided to finish out the TNT playoff run with his partner Marv Albert straight through the Western Conference finals (which end in late May), according to an NBA source. Kerr stands to be a busy man. (TNT will not televise The Finals).
Previous reports had Kerr wanting to have a contract with the Knicks wrapped up by the start of the second round of the playoffs. He’s still reportedly waiting on a contract offer.Powered by Sidelines
