DeMarcus Ware May Need Off-Season Shoulder Surgery

The Dallas Cowboys are three days away from the biggest game of the season, but some thoughts are focused on a few months from now.

Cowboys all pro outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware has been toughing through a shoulder injury for sometime now, and ESPN Dallas is reporting that Ware will most likely need to have surgery in the off-season to correct the situation.

“I don’t know yet,” Ware said on offseason surgery. “Just depends on what they say.”

Ware was asked if team doctors or trainers had told him what he might need, and being coy, he declined to answer.

“I can answer that, but I’m not going to answer that,” he said. Later, Ware said “maybe, maybe not. Wait to the end of the season to see.”

Ware leads the Cowboys with 11.5 sacks, and was voted to his 7th straight pro bowl.

Ware let it be known he will be available Sunday night against the Redskins.

“When you think about the Cowboys and Redskins, it’s always been a rivalry,” Ware said. “And a big NFC East game, now you think about it (and), there’s a little bit more at stake. This is like a statement game, one of those games where you can prove to a lot of people no matter what goes on with your team, guys being (injured), you can get a win. You can still play well because it’s a team game. It’s not just one player out there playing.”
