I have Green Bay Packers wide receiver Ty Montgomery on my fantasy football team, so his late scratch before kickoff against the Falcons was extremely odd and disheartening.
That feeling changed after learning that Montgomery wasn’t dealing with a simple illness, but actually suffered a kidney injury in last weeks win against the Bears according to ESPN.com.
Packers receiver Ty Montgomery is inactive for Sunday’s game in Atlanta because he dealing with a kidney-related ailment, sources tell ESPN’s Josina Anderson and Ed Werder.
One source said Montgomery “observed blood in his urine” after taking a blow in last week’s game, but he’s feeling better now.
The Packers rested Montgomery Sunday as a “precautionary” measure.
Montgomery took most of his snaps out of the backfield the past two weeks.
Montgomery may have felt the effects of carrying nine times for 60 yards last week — while also catching 10 passes for 66 yards.
