Details on Pelicans Possibly Shutting Anthony Davis Down for Season


What once had potential for a breakthrough — has now become a lost season for the New Orleans Pelicans, who’ve been riddled with injuries.

According to John Reid of — the Pelicans could shut Davis down for the remainder of the season.

“Obviously he has an injury on his knee and something with his shoulder,” head coach Alvin Gentry said, per John Reid of “I think they are going to talk to doctors this afternoon and we’ll know a lot more then.”

“I wouldn’t say no to that,” Gentry said when asked if the Pelicans would be more inclined to end Davis’ season, per Reid. “I think we got to be smart collectively, along with him. Like I said, I think we’ll know a lot more after they talk to doctors today.”

Davis is the leading scorer and rebounder for New Orleans averaging 24.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
