Details on What Phil Knight is Prepared to Spend to Get Oregon a Big Name Coach

Phil Knight is used to Oregon football being dominant, so to watch those dynamite uniforms go to waste, loss after loss, has to be killing the king of Nike.

If this report is true — Mark Helfrich’s hot seat just became a scorcher.

ESPN’s Darren Rovell is reporting that Nike co-founder Phil Knight is ready to pay upwards of $10 million per year, in order to bring a national championship to Oregon.

With that insane amount of money — Knight and Oregon could entertain pursuing the likes of Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh — who is the highest paid coach in the country at just over $9 million per season.

The Ducks wouldn’t be done — able to pursue other top coaches include Alabama’s Nick Saban ($7 million), Ohio State’s Urban Meyer ($6 million), Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops ($5.5 million) and every other big name in America.
