Detroit Lions And Coach Jim Schwartz Agree To Extension

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz has seen the team at its worst after inheriting a team coming off an 0-16 campaign.

He has now been rewarded for getting them close to their best.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Schwartz and the Lions have agreed on a multiyear contract extension.

Terms of the extension were not released.

Schwartz was entering the final year of a deal he signed in 2009.

The Lions have improved each season under Schwartz going 2-14 his first season, 6-10 in 2010, and 10-6 this past season  including their first playoff appearance  since 1999.
