Sometimes the weird and bizarre get even weirder. The Nick Foles audition to be the Future at quarterback for the Eagles is over after he reportedly suffered a hairline fracture in throwing hand yesterday against the Redskins.
The Philadelphia Daily News is reporting that Eagles head coach Andy Reid will start Michael Vick against the Giants in what likely will be a semi audition for whatever teams have interest in him for next season.
Vick hasn’t played a down in almost five weeks, that won’t stop Reid from one last cool gesture.
“That’s the direction we’re going in, as we speak,” Reid said. Reid said Vick, cleared after suffering a concussion Nov. 11, is excited, something Vick spokesman Chris Shigas confirmed to your Eagletarian. Shigas said Vick cherishes the opportunity to “leave it on the field,” and obviously, getting a shot at showing potential 2013 employers he is healthy and sharp can’t hurt, either.
“He’s had a couple of weeks of practice here,” Reid said of Vick. “I thought the first week, he was a little bit rusty out there, I thought this past week, he threw it around well, he feels good … He obviously deserves an opportunity to play.”
Depending on what time the game starts, I’m sure Rex Ryan will be somewhere tuned in.
