The super fight that everyone wants to see has finally been announced, even if it’s not the opponent fans clamored for years to see.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Canelo Alvarez will lock horns on September 14 at the MGM Grand. Mayweather broke the news himself.
I chose my opponent for September 14th and it's Canelo Alvarez. I'm giving the fans what they want. It will be at the MGM Grand.

The fight will take place at a weight of 152 after Alvarez initially said he wouldn’t take the fight at a weight lower than 154.
Canelo like 44 others before him, says he has the recipe to dethrone the pound for pound king of boxing.
“I’m very excited. This is the fight I have wanted for a while,” Alvarez told ESPN.com from the Golden Boy Promotions offices in Los Angeles after signing his contract. “It’s been talked about for a while now, and now that it’s signed, sealed and delivered, I am very happy.
“I will be the first to beat Floyd.”
