In what can only be described as reminiscent from a scene in the movie The Program, a high school football player started beating his opponenet with his own helmet.
According to Deadspin, a game between Hamburg and Annville-Cleona in Lebanon County, Penn., near Harrisburg went south after Hamburg senior safety/QB Joseph Cominsky pulled the helmet off lineman Josh Hartman and started hitting him with it twice before being tackled by other players.
Hartman suffered a laceration on his scalp, but was surprisingly uninjured. Cominsky was ejected, as was another Annville-Cleona player who threw punches. Each will automatically be suspended for one game, and we can expect Cominsky to probably be done on the team.
Police are investigating the brawl, and said Cominsky could be charged with a felony.
“We are looking at one person particularly at this time,” he said.
The school district has scheduled a hearing for tomorrow, at which it could enforce its own discipline.
