Jaguars Place Jones-Drew On Reserve Did Not Report List

There has been a progression in the Maurice Jones-Drew holdout scenario.

MJD will not be pleased with the news though.

FoxSports.com is reporting that the Jaguars have placed Jones-Drew on the reserve/did not report list.

Under the new CBA agreement the Jags can fine Jones-Drew $30,000 per day.

Jones-Drew led the NFL in rushing last season with 1,606 yards, but is holding out in hopes of getting a new deal.

He was given a new deal in 2009 worth $31 million over 5 years and prior to the 2009 season and has collected on $22 million of that money.

I understand his concern regarding the fact that most over 30-year-old running backs don’t big time contracts, but Jones-Drew signed that original deal.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out because he is deserving of new contract, but the Jags aren’t obligated to give him one.

MJD better make up his mind

  3. I understand Arian Foster wanting more money than his undrafted rookie deal gave him. But MJD makes decent money, he signed the deal and he’s gonna retire a millionaire. He’s gotta suck it up and play.

    1. yea i agree. He signed that deal and 2 years ago. He set to make 5 mill each of the next 2 seasons.
