Jay-Z Announces New Album, ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ During NBA Finals (Video)

Jay Z is on a mission to show everyone how it’s done in the realm of sports and entertainment.  Shawn Carter took some time out from building up his Roc Nation Sports portfolio, to hijack halftime of Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Hova used that four minutes or so to highlight his new deal with Samsung, and to promote the fact that he’s got a new album coming out in less than a month.

Titled Magna Carta Holy Grail, it will be the rapper’s 12th studio album, and will come out on July 4th.

With Pharrell, Rick Rubin, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz all co-starring in the commercial, you had four of the greatest producers in history all locked in one room, trying to outdo one another.

“We don’t have any rules, everybody is trying to figure it out,” he says. “That’s why the internet is like the Wild West. The Wild Wild West. We need to write the new rules.”

The first million Samsung Galaxy owner’s to download the app on Google Play June 24th will be able to get the album for free on July 4, three days before it’s even released to the public. Check out the official site for the album at magnacartaholygrail.com
