Jerry Jones And Cowboys Don’t Expect Quick Return From Miles Austin

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin has been nursing a bad hamstring for most of the team’s training camp.

DallasCowboys.com is reporting that Cowboys brass does not expect Austin to return for the preseason finale next week against the St. Louis Rams either.

Austin has been battling hamstring difficulties since last season when he missed six games because of it.

Team owner Jerry Jones was the latest to chime in on the injured wide out.

“He’s not one of the ones I’m thinking will be back,” Jones said. “I wouldn’t discount it, but he’s not one of the ones that I have coming back. I hope (Matt) Johnson’s back out there. I hope Johnson can get out there and get some work in. That’s important to him and us.”

Austin should not be rushed back because the Cowboys need him for the long haul.   Austin has been a bit injury prone since signing a long-term deal 3 seasons ago.
