Robert Griffin III

RG3 announced Monday that he will not throw at the 2012 NFL Combine instead choosing to focus on team interviews, running the 40 and other individual drills in Indianapolis. Griffin who is doing his pre combine training at Athletes’ Performance in Phoenix, AZ is working to dispel the myth that the spread offense he ran at Baylor will stunt his ability to pick up pro-style principles and make NFL reads. Griffin III made the choice to push back his pro day instead of having to go head to head with Andrew Luck for the attention of coaches, scouts and gm’s.

  1. I have never had a problem with top quarterbacks opting not to throw at the combine. No surprise RGIII won’t throw. Can’t wait to see his forty time and broad jump numbers!

I think he made a smart choice giving him more of a chance to show off his skills later without distraction.

  3. Great article I`m looking forward to the workouts. I wonder if this will hurt his chances in the draft?

I don’t think it will hurt his chances lots of Quarterbacks opt out of showing their skills at the Combine. I’m anxious to find out how his overall workout will turn out.
